The L.A.N.E. (Little Arrowhead Nature Explore) is open!
On September 15, 2024 The Coalition, along with community members, key stakeholders in this project, and lots of excited children, gathered for the ribbon cutting and grand opening of The L.A.N.E. Getting to see the children of our community play in a safe environment, dedicated to their development through play based learning proved that this labor of love was well worth it. In her speech at the grand opening, Julie Vess, Coalition Steering Committee Member said, "I didn't realize this but outdoor experiences are part of child development. I just thought playing in the mud was fun. A group of community partners saw that so many of our children were getting to kindergarten age and were missing many of the skills needed for school. This group has been envisioning projects in the Stanwood-Camano community to give children the opportunities to learn these skills and be better equipped for kindergarten and this space is one of those envisioned projects... a safe, fun, beautiful place."

We are also proud to announce that The L.A.N.E. has also been recognized as a Certified Nature Explore Classroom by the Nature Explore program, which is a division of the nonprofit Dimensions Educational Research Foundation.
