Meeting Updates
Unhoused Workgroup:
CRC made a presentation to the workgroup about CRC creating a Resource Hub program. The group approved this and thanked the CRC for taking on this initiative. CRC has hired a staff person for the Resource hub, and they start on May 19th. The workgroup will tour the "Green" building on May 8th @ 10:30, and if time permits, come back to SCAF to talk about the Cold Weather shelter.
Snow Goose Transit:
Last Qtr: 1367 rides with 457 deviations. Zero youth riders. Campaign to market to youth for summer. Waiting for funding from WSDOT.
Kindergarten Readiness:
The LANE: hours have been changed to 10-5pm. They have had a couple of rentals for birthday parties and have had constant attendance even on inclement weather days.
Transitional Kindergarten: No update
Play Posse: Remodeling of the space at Warm Beach continues with the program start date of September.
Camano Forest School: No update
Early Learning Bus Project (SnoIsle Library): The Project has been approved. MOU forthcoming.
Ready, Set, Go (YMCA): No update
YMCA Preschool: No Update
CRC ECE: Funding for Family Resource Center grants will not be renewed. This impacts the ECE program by $60,000. Outdoor Parks n Play and Kindergarten meet-ups have begun. Hiring for a Spanish-speaking ECE KPL Teacher.
Grants
Dept of Commerce-Child Care & PSE-Disaster relief grants have been submitted.
New Networking groups: Question: Do we wait for funding or get started as soon as we have participants?
