Introductions
Play Posse Presentation - Funding for an innovative intergenerational
(volunteers from the senior community to help with staffing) preschool on Warm
Beach Senior Community property which is maintained by them. Proposal to fund
$70,000 for startup costs. The committee agreed to fund the project at $100,000
toward startup costs. Note: funds cannot be used for tuition.
The L.A.N.E. - The committee approved $20,000 to be awarded to Arrowhead Foundation for maintenance costs of Little Arrowhead Nature Explorer (The LANE). This will exhaust this year's grant funding.
Leadership will create a grant funder report with outcomes for the year.
Updates from Kindergarten Readiness projects:
Transitional Kindergarten: classrooms are full and things going well.
Convening meetings: continue to meet monthly with support for early
childhood providers and the school district.
Early Learning Room (CRC): an expanded program for Spanish-speaking
participants. Discussed the purchase of a vehicle to transport program
supplies. This was tabled for 2025 funding. Discussed the landscape grant
and transition of the outdoor space to be more child/family friendly.
YMCA: Representative absent
Camano Forest Preschool: will contact for updates
The LANE: will contact for updates
Discussion about Collective Impact and how this workgroup can measure and if it
needs to be measured. It was decided to provide stories and potential numbers
from school district reports.
Discussion about providing training for preschools/daycares and will the
leaders be able to participate.
Potential projects for 2025 funding:
Waiting for a proposal from Sno-Isle Libraries for a mobile education vehicle. Will
follow up.
