Icebreaker: Discussion about favorite breakfast food and an insight was how different and better the NY bagels are.

Andrea Wyatt, Director of the Community Resource Center (CRC), gave a presentation regarding the resource hub and its current status. She highlighted the lack of resources in our community and the increasing number of homeless individuals. The need for a "Stability Hub" is essential, as it would provide consistent, comprehensive, and coordinated support for people in crisis.

It was announced that the CRC is purchasing the "little green house" to serve as the location for the Stability Hub, which will close on August 1. Significant repairs will be completed prior to the sale, with additional repairs necessary before occupancy. This hub is seen as the "Key to a Stable Future" for many, and there is excitement about the opportunities it presents.

Next steps include assembling collaborative partners, creating a mission and vision, deciding on operational hours and days, and identifying key partners to work in the space. The group agreed to assist with these steps and to develop a resource directory.

Currently, zoning regulations prevent the establishment of a Safe Parking area for individuals living in their cars. However, it was decided to initiate the hub, which will provide a "storefront" to spark conversations and opportunities for community education about the growing number of homeless individuals and families in our area. It was noted that the McKinney Vento program reported 168 homeless young people for the 2024-25 school year, emphasizing the urgent need for affordable housing and the question of how to create it.

This group will meet on August 14 to begin working on the directory and to establish the mission and values.
