The discussion focused on the Little Science Lab program from Imagine Children’s Museum aimed at enhancing STEM learning for preschoolers and their families, with an emphasis on expanding its reach in the Stanwood-Camano area. Quinn Schell outlined the program's structure, which typically runs for four weeks and accommodates around 20 participants per session. The importance of securing a public space for the program was highlighted, along with the need for flexibility in scheduling and locations, including libraries and preschools.

Elee Wood provided insights on funding, noting it is estimated that a comprehensive program for one site would cost approximately $26,000 for 30 sessions. The group discussed the potential for multiple cohorts and the logistics of accommodating children not enrolled in preschool.  It was discussed, and a follow-up will be sent to engage in a conversation about next steps.

The group discussed a funding request from Imagine That and their challenges of improving a barn currently used for the program to ensure year-round operation and the importance of integrating the program into existing preschool schedules to boost attendance.  It was agreed to fund this proposal.

ChildStrive will be submitting a proposal that would be approximately $50,000.

As the meeting concluded, Natalie Hagglund proposed scheduling the next meeting before Thanksgiving. The group decided to continue discussions via email unless a meeting was deemed necessary.
